Local Photographic Artist Marc Gagnon has recently begun working with models Alyssa Agovino, local resident of Coral Springs and Aelson Cacique, NJ resident, who is seen in South Florida on a regular basis.  Alyssa Agovino has been modeling for the past 7 years and recently signed on as one of Marc Gagnon’s talent. Alyssa recently finished a collage to commemorate the American Troops called The Wounded Warrior collage. Alyssa supports the efforts of our volunteer army. Gagnon plans on getting involved with a charity assisting families of our troops, much as he did back seven years ago at the Coral Springs Museum of Art.  Gagnon was interviewed on NBC News for this event. Ms. Agovino is also a local business owner and recently opened up a tax service in Hialeah, Florida. Alyssa also finished an art collage with Aelson Cacique on a Sleepy Hollow collage.  The Sleepy Hollow collage is based on the story written by George Washington Irving. Gagnon hopes to finish a number of art collages featuring both Alyssa Agovino and Aelson Cacique and then will package them and market them to top agencies in the NYC metropolitan area.  Currently Alyssa Agovino is with the Las Olas Model agency, a local Fort Lauderdale agency set up by Marc Gagnon and VP Jeffrey Mariner out of City National Bank.

Alyssa has been seen in Burn Notice which was created by Matt Nix and appears on the USA Network,  as well as commercials on TBS. Aelson Cacique has been in the business for years. Julia the Florida Model Traveling from Boston

Julia A Florida Model back from Boston

By Bill Olsen

Julia was recently referred to our photographic artist Marc Gagnon which Marc Gagnon Inc. represents.  Mr. Gagnon spoke to Julia one day on a Saturday and the conversation went well.  Marc left her his phone number and how to reach him both with his Florida and New Hampshire numbers. Julia was actually visiting the Boston area to return back to Florida. Mr. Gagnon sent her a text that when she is ready as he knew she had just flew back, to give him a call when she had the chance.  In the text, he stated he was looking for professional and models with a strong work ethic.  He also stated, that if he does not hear from her wished her the best of luck in future endeavors. Most times than most, models in Florida do not return phone calls nor do they follow up. She responded to Marc Gagnon with profanities and texted him to f**k  off.  Obviously, this type of behavior is not that professional and we are all appreciative to find out early than spending and investing the time in her.

This also indicates the lack of intelligence that this model has.  Obviously, when a model hears from a prospective customer, photographer, vendor, etc., they should thoroughly check them out. The first thing for example that they should do is to check out their company on the State of Florida Corporation site to see if they are actually registered (www.sunbiz.org). If they would have checked Zoom info, they would have found that Marc Gagnon has some 40 people as part of his staff located in 9 locations. They would have found that his photography is in the permanent collections of 4 Presidential Libraries, the Smithsonian, the Vatican, and a number of other institutions. She would have found that his work is also collected by some of the richest people of the world, owners and shareholders of Fortune 500 companies. In fact, the list that all of these people are on, The Forbes List, she would have found pictures of Marc Gagnon with Steve Forbes himself as well as other people as Martin Luther King Iii, Dan Marino, Bryant Gumbel and other notables.  The model would have also found him on a NBC News interview - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRCJi1fOTlY . Marc Gagnon’s story of his life can also be view ed on a cable TV show called the G Spot viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YF3MxZoRCmQ .

Obviously, this model is totally unprofessional and not business savvy. It is important to consider the following when dealing with people in the business place whether you are a model, owner of a small or middle market business, etc.:

·        Do your research on the person you are speaking with to see how influential they are in the business world.  This model would have found that Marc Gagnon for instance is a member of the Nashua Chamber of Commerce, Coral Springs Chamber of Commerce, Metro Charlestown Chamber, and the St Johns County Chamber of Commerce. Marc Gagnon is also a member of some 14 professional photographic associations, 12 art associations, and the Founder of the Innovation Forum and the Breakfast Club International. Marc Gagnon has also contributed to the PSA (Photographic Society of America), Western Photographer, CAI Journal, and a number of publications. Gagnon has also been featured in some 28 publications and his worked has been on 15 of these covers on featured articles of his work. His work has been featured in the United States, Canada, Europe, and in India.

* Find out what types of work or needs the company has. Try to be as specific as possible.

* Every professional company has a media kit. Ask for one.

* Ask for what work has been published. If they are anything, they should have been published.  Models that are not published are want to bees.  They are not professionals yet.

·    Does the model have an agent or a personal manager? If not, why?

·        The model should have asked, who mentored the photographer and in this case Marc Gagnon. The model would have discovered his blogs and who he learned from.

·     It is important to view the company website to see the type of work the company does. Marc Gagnon Inc. actually has a number of websites which encompasses some 20,000 images, press articles, pictures of Marc Gagnon and notables as well as letters from these people.  The model would have discovered the merchandise that Marc Gagnon Inc. sells in 37 stores.

Obviously, this is an extreme case. Overall, Marc Gagnon receives some 100 applicants per year and may only take on one person to work with. Marc Gagnon Inc. does not charge a single model and pays them for their time.

New Talent in Charleston

New Talent in Charleston
by Bill Olsen

Natalia Warner and Robert Giroud have begun working with Marc Gagnon, Photographic Artist. Marc Gagnon was working with someone in South Florida. Unfortunately, the people in South Florida were not friendly and were rather abusive and arrogant. Gagnon ceased and severed the relationship and reached out to all of his agents to find a Black model to work on some civil rights pieces. That incident led me to Robert Giroud who is working with Walter Jefferies a local photographer out of Charleston, SC.

Marc Gagnon has found Robert Giroud to be very professional, talented and with much future. On Saturday night, Robert introduced Marc at a Santee Center event on Mr. Jefferies photo exhibit.  Robert Giroud has been quoted by saying "I am indeed thankful to be working with two such fine people in Mr. Jefferies and Mr. Gagnon."

Gagnon also just started working with Natalia Warner who is also out of Charleston. Martha Newman and I met her at California Dreamin Restaurant. Some people are impressed that she is much younger than her actual age. She is currently attending Charleston College. Marc will be visiting Charleston SC on a regular basis and the two models will be traveling further South both to Georgia and Florida in continually working with Gagnon.

Charleston South Carolina has so Much to Offer

Charleston South Carolina has so Much to Offer
by Bill Olsen

Since I live around the Charleston area, of course I am very partial to it. I have lived in the area for only two years. I moved both for family and business. I am an agent for Marc Gagnon Inc. and believe in the art projects of photographic artist Marc Gagnon. I have known Marc Gagnon since 1984 from my early days at Fleet in New England.  In fact, I have recently helped Marc Gagnon in finding new aspiring models in and around Charleston.

Charleston is rich in history since the American Revolution which was a critical area in America in declaring independence from the Britist. Many of you probably saw the Patriot. The movie was based on the true life story of the Swamp Fox, also known as Officer Marion which many cities bear his name. Disney actually did the first movie on him starring Leslie Nielsen. Charleston actually started though in 1670 with the original settlement of Charlestown. Charleston has a great nightlife as well around the intracoastal where Reds is located. There are a lot of history here in Monck Corners, Sullivan Island and Fort Moultrie. Below are a series of images taken by Marc Gagnon and I will be featuring a number of topics of Charleston in the upcoming weeks. Enjoy. I will also be mentioning great places to eat at as well as to visit.

Aelson Cacique leads to Robert Giroud

Aelson Cacique leads to Robert Giroud
by Bill Olsen

Robert Giroud is an up and coming model and talent out of Charleston, SC. Walter Jefferries was introduced to me at a wedding about a month and a half ago. In fact, I was there with Marc Gagnon and Michelle Demers as well as with other staff as Martha Newman and Michael Resnik. Aelson Cacique is a model that Marc Gagnon signed about a month ago. He was referred to him by a family which Marc was ready to sign the son on. In fact, I had already got the 21 year old son of this family with a magazine cover in Charleston.  What happened was that the male's mother was trying to dictate to Marc Gagnon what photographs should be taken, that they should be sent to her for approval, and she would have the decision on who Marc could use. Obviously, this woman had some deep emotional problems and what made this very bad is that she is illegal. In other words, she is not documented to live in this country. Marc was still willing to use the son but the mother convinced the son not to work with Marc Gagnon.  That is where I came in. Aelson Cacique Fan Club - http://aelsoncaciquefanclub.blogspot.com/2013/08/aelson-cacique-fan-club.html

I reminded Marc Gagnon about Robert Giroud. Marc reached out to Robert concerning the 3 civil rights collages he wanted to complete. Obviously, Robert accepted as well as Robert's personal manager Walter Jefferies. These 3 collages will eventually be in the hands of the President of the United States which Marc Gagnon met personally in Miami some 2 months ago. Gagnon also knows Bryant Gumbel, Sean Colmes, as welll as Martin Luther King III.  Marc has been quoted by saying, "It is more important now than ever that we make a statement on Civil Rights for all.  The country is too divided."

There is no doubt that Aelson Cacique has a promising career. He is slated to do two ads in the coming month and he will star as Ponce de Leon in one of Gagnon's pieces.

Robert Giroud has stated, "I am so glad that the woman was such a loser which led Gagnon to use me instead. This will propel my career."

Charleston is such a beautiful place to shoot. We here are glad that Gagnon will be coming up or down depending on where he is coming from.  I and Martha Newman have actually found Gagnon 3 additional female models to work with. My best Marc, Aelson and Robert.
